Q & A
The following is a question and answer session with principal designer Christi Bunn:
What types of customers have you worked with?
As for web design, I create websites that are uniquely designed and customized for each client. I incorporate the latest in social media, blogging, and networking, depending on my client’s needs, to give a significant web presence. Graphic design projects are created by collaborating and really listening to what the customer needs the design to convey. I love meeting with my clients in order to get to know them and their needs, but I have also created websites and designs for those I have never met. I love working with small businesses and non-profits but have created sites for all ranges of business.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will send an initial email with a lot of questions, in order to know how to begin the design process. Whether for a website or other design project, I will typically send a questionnaire that will give me the information I need about exactly what the customer wants. Then I can better know how to quote the final design.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Advertising and Graphic Design, with over 17 years in the website design and graphic design industry. I have seen many changes in the field of design in that time. I have loved continuing to see new and more sophisticated tools developed for our industry, and I have enjoyed the learning process as new technologies are introduced. I primarily use Adobe products (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) for graphic design and use my knowledge of html coding along with WordPress for custom website design.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service?
Each website build and graphic design piece is so different that I cannot do a “one price fits all” method of pricing. However, my clients find me to be very affordable and it is typical to hear from them that they feel they get more from me than they have paid for.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a love for art and design, so my penchant for working with shapes and colors comes naturally. About 17 years ago, I was given the challenge of building a website for a new energy business, and my web design career was launched.
Describe a recent project you are fond of and how long it took to complete:
I absolutely love the creative process and really enjoy logo design. I have just finished a logo design for a client that took less than a week, and starting with several speculative designs we honed and refined the one(s) she liked until we had the finished product.
What questions should you ask yourself before submitting a project to Bunn Media:
As far as graphic or logo design: How do I want to present myself or my project to the world? What is the best way to represent my brand? What are the most important things I want to convey with this piece?
As for website design: What are the essentials I need from a website? What am I trying to communicate to a potential customer? Do I want to integrate social media? How much will I need to be involved in any website updates? Will I need regular (weekly, monthly, bi-monthly) updates or will this be a static site? How will my site connect with other websites for maximum visibility?
